 Make Your DVD Auctions Sell!

If you were going to make an electronics purchase, would you want to make your purchase from someone's garage or would you want to buy it from a knowledgeable salesperson? Chances are you'd rather buy from a professional. The same can be said for bidders looking to buy DVDs on eBay. They'd rather buy from a professional than from someone selling DVDs out of a garage.

I am not saying that you can't store your DVDs in the back of your car (although the sun might ruin them, but totally your choice on that one), but you should appear on your Ebay as a professional. Buyers want to know they are buying from a reliable dvd distributor that will be around to take care of any problems that may arise.

There are three key ingredients for creating auction pages that sell - the item pictures, the description and the auction page layout. Without these key ingredients, you aren't maximizing the potential of your eBay sales.

Your auction description is very important. You should be a little more detailed in your description than just putting the name of the DVD and the year it was released. Be professional. Include the features of the DVD, description of the movie, and the length of the DVD. Also if your beginning bid for the DVD is well below the retail sales price be sure and include that as well.

The more you tell people about the item up for auction, the more likely they'll be to bid on it. That being said, proofread your auction before you post it. Nothing looks as unprofessional as an auction page filled with typos and grammatical errors.

Next we should discuss the auction images. You want to have one really great image of the DVD, and the most obvious image is the front cover. If it is possible, a good idea to also get the back of the cover as well as the screen shots. The human mind is driven by image, and a picture is worth a thousand words.

Last but not least is the auction template. You can get great images and a really great description, but if they are all out of order, then they will do you no good. Make sure that your template is orderly and appears professional manner to the buyer. There is nothing more damaging to your success than having a terrible looking auction page. This just screams "newbie" to a potential buyer.

These are only three of the many variables that determine a successful listing from an unsuccessful listing. The time of day your auction is listed, the duration, auction title, and your feedback score also play an important part. If your successful at first, try tweaking some more of these variables. Once you have the right combination, you can be just as successful as the top ebay sellers.
